If an accident occurs while renting a vehicle with SHAREaCAMPER please:

  1. make sure that everyone is safe and out of danger and call for medical assistance if anyone involved in the accident is injured;
  2. where required by law, report the accident to police, regardless of estimated damage costs;
  3.  stay at the scene, however slight the accident, until speaking with the other driver, potential witnesses and if applicable the police and obtaining their details (name, address, police job reference);
  4. take reasonable steps to obtain the details of the other drivers and / or witnesses. This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration and insurance company of the third party involved in the accident;
  5. if possible, photograph damage to all vehicle(s) and registration number(s);
  6. not accept blame or insist the other party is at fault;
  7. notify roadside assistance in the case where the vehicle is damaged and / or unfit to drive;
  8. inform the Owner of the vehicle immediately or as soon as it is safe to do so; and
  9. phone the SHAREaCAMPER hotline on +64 3668 1211 (New Zealand) with the accident’s details within 24 hours.

If you need roadside assistance, contact the New Zealand Automobile Association Inc. (AA), available 24/7: 0800 734 534. 

  • Please inform the roadside assistance that you have rented a vehicle through SHAREaCAMPER.
  • Provide your current location and if possible phone number you can be reached at.
  • Provide the registration data of the vehicle like the licence plate number, your name and the name of the Owner.

  • Provide your current location.
  • Provide them with the insurance certificate number so that they know you are a traveller of SHAREaCAMPER. The insurance certificate number is 770/32/030982460
